This 3-day fly-in safari to the Northern Serengeti is specially designed for travelers seeking the spectacular Great Migration Mara River crossings. Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), followed by a transfer to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kogatende Airstrip in the Northern Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will meet your experienced safari guide and begin your game drive towards the Mara River crossing area, giving you the opportunity to experience the migration and the abundant resident wildlife of the region.
You will spend the night at Nyikani Camp, conveniently located in the Northern Serengeti. Its location provides excellent access to the Mara River area, allowing your safari guide to respond quickly to wildlife activity and maximize your chances of witnessing a river crossing when conditions are right.

On your final morning, enjoy an early game drive in the Northern Serengeti before returning to Kogatende Airstrip around mid-morning for your scheduled flight back to Arusha, marking the end of your safari.

Itinerary
Your adventure begins with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA). Upon arrival, our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Arusha Airport, where you will board your scheduled flight to Kogatende Airstrip in the northern Serengeti.
After landing at Kogatende, you will meet your experienced safari driver-guide, who will welcome you and begin your safari adventure. From the airstrip, you will immediately start your journey through the northern Serengeti towards the Mara River crossing area, one of the most spectacular wildlife regions in Tanzania.
Depending on the season and wildlife movements, you may have the opportunity to witness the incredible Great Migration, particularly between July and September when thousands of wildebeest and zebras gather around the Mara River.
As you travel towards the river crossing area, keep your camera ready for encounters with the abundant wildlife of northern Serengeti. The area is home to large herds of wildebeest and zebra, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species.
Your guide will carefully follow the wildlife activity and choose the best possible route towards the Mara River crossing points, giving you an opportunity to experience one of nature's most remarkable spectacles.
After exploring the area, continue to your tented lodge/camp for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Your second day in Kogatende takes you to the Mara River, which forms a natural border between the Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara. Here, you can witness one of the most iconic events in the animal kingdom: the river crossing, when wildebeests, zebras, and other grazers navigate the waters during the Great Migration. This dramatic spectacle has drawn National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, and other renowned wildlife programs to document it, and is part of what makes the Serengeti a World Heritage Site.

Overnight: Nyikani Camp, Northern Serengeti
Wake up early at Nyikani Camp and enjoy breakfast before heading out for your final morning game drive in the northern Serengeti. Take advantage of the cooler morning hours, when wildlife is particularly active, as you explore the surrounding plains and look for lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, and other wildlife.
After the morning game drive, return to the camp, collect your belongings, and prepare for departure. At around 9:00 AM, leave Nyikani Camp and transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Arusha.
Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, your safari journey comes to an end. From the airport, you may continue with your onward travel arrangements or transfer to your hotel or another destination in Arusha.
